I just finished reading James Rollins Map of Bones, and let me just say, WOW! One of the reviews said it was "reminiscent of The Da Vinci Code, but in all ways a better book," and I must say I agree. I loved the characters so much more in this novel. The hero, Grayson Pierce, is dashing, handsome, intelligent, dangerous, wonderful...need I say more! I also loved the fact that the heroine is the one who is always driving the get away car in the high-speed chases! You go, girl! She is not as much of a mousy, book-worm as the heroine in The Da Vinci Code. (Sorry, Dan.) I would highly recommend this fast-paced adventure across the Seven Wonders of the World for anyone who enjoyed The Da Vinci Code.
I enjoyed this book so much, I am beginning another book along the same theme. Katherine Neville's first novel The Eight is also compared to The Da Vinci Code. In this novel, two heroines are trying to track down eight pieces to Charlemange's chess set. It is suppose to be a mathematical mystery novel. I will let you know what I think!

I've not heard of either one of these titles or authors! How do you find them? There was a Da Vinci read-a-like I read back in 2003 and I'll try remember the name for you. I bet you have already read it though. :)
My office mate, Jennifer Boyd, is my source for excellent books. She tells me what to read, and I listen. She has not missed yet!
Dang, why doesn't Ms Boyd participate? I mean the whole point of a challenge is to try books outside one's comfort zone; plus, y'all would have so much fun bloggin' back-n-forth! ;D
It's not too late, and the odds of winning one of the 14 tins of pecans is rather astronominal with only 21 participants. I'm giving away cheaper tins to my other book bloggers where it is 14 for 70 and climbing.
